BMT Executive Board and Ombudsperson

Brown Mock Trial is mainly student-run! Although we do have a coach (shoutout to Michael D’Ippolito), the Executive Board takes care of everything from recruitment to travel logistics to social media updates! Here’s a brief explanation of what each member of E-Board does, as well as our Ombudsperson! Below, you will also find links to the bios of the amazing people who will be managing those responsibilities during the 2025–2026 season!
Class of 2026
President
John Lee
The President is the most outward-facing member of the Executive Board and is responsible for much of the communication between Brown Mock Trial and other programs across the country. Setting the club’s overall direction and tone, the President is also responsible for leading E-Board meetings and serves as one of the point people for communication with other institutional bodies at Brown such as the Undergraduate Finance Board (UFB) and the Student Activities Office (SAO). This year, John Lee will serve as Brown Mock Trial’s President! You can learn more about him here!
Tournament Director
Wesley Horn
The Tournament Director is responsible for planning and organizing the Regional Tournament hosted by Brown University in February as well as the High School Tournament in the fall. The Tournament Director is responsible for procuring tournament materials such as tables and chairs, and communicating with both American Mock Trial Association (AMTA) representatives and the captains/coaches of competing teams. This year, Wesley Horn will serve as Brown Mock Trial’s Tournament Director! You can learn more about him here!
Treasurer
Jonathan Lin
The Treasurer is one of three individuals (along External Relations) primarily responsible for managing the team’s annual budget. In addition to searching for opportunities to conserve funds, the Treasurer also maintains knowledge of and communicates with UFB and SAO, meeting with UFB throughout the year to attain additional funding. The Treasurer is also responsible for processing reimbursements for members’ tournament expenses. This year, Jonathan Lin will serve as Brown Mock Trial’s Treasurer! You can learn more about him here!
External Relations
Aylla Kattler and Nick Kitahata
The External Relations team consists of two of the three individuals primarily responsible for managing the team’s annual budget. Similar to the Treasurer, External Relations searches for opportunities to conserve funds, and they work alongside the Treasurer to organize and book travel logistics. Additionally, External Relations assists the Tournament Director by organizing judge recruitment for Brown University’s Regional Tournament. This year, Ayla Kattler will serve as Brown Mock Trial’s External Relations Director in the Fall Semester, and Nick Kitahata will serve as the External Relations Director in the Spring Semester! You can learn more about them here!
Communications Director
Priyanka Nambiar
The Communications Director is responsible for maintaining Brown Mock Trial’s social media pages and organizing team events. Whether that be by scheduling team bonding socials throughout the year or posting tournament results, the Communications Director is the go-to individual for ensuring that BMT has a consistent social media presence and a cohesive team. This year, Priyanka Nambiar will serve as Brown Mock Trial’s Communications Director! You can learn more about her here!
Ombudsperson
Ann Gray Golpira
While this is a goal prioritized by everyone on the Executive Board, the Ombudsperson is primarily responsible for ensuring that Brown Mock Trial is a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space for every single member. To prevent any conflicts of interest, the Ombudsperson operates outside of the formalized Executive Board. They serve as the point person for handling any potentially harmful incidents involving BMT members and help connect members to the resources that they need. This year, Ann Gray Golpira will serve as Brown Mock Trial’s Ombudsperson! You can learn more about her here!
